Literature Review on Resilience Engineering in the Health-Care Industry

Resilience engineering provides with the tools that hold capability to anticipate and accordingly adapt before the onslaught of risks. The model of resilience engineering and its numerous applications have been studied in detail. The different perspectives by the academia explaining the theoretical background and concepts of resilience engineering have been highlighted. It is an emerging topic that has gained prominence in various industries, especially the healthcare system. An organized literature search is proposed in this report which reviews the fundamentals of resilience engineering and its impact created in the healthcare system. The main body of this report is devoted to the definitions and applications of resilience engineering and its modular frameworks in the healthcare industry. The challenges that exist in the frameworks proposed are discussed followed by the potential advancement strategies and research options possible for the future.
