Analytical Analysis of Solar PV Module Using MATLAB

The energy from sun accounts for the major part of renewable energy which is utilized in this planet. Photovoltaics (PV) is a lenient way of producing electrical energy by transforming solar radiation into electricity in the form of current by using proper silicon-based semiconductor which exhibits the photovoltaic effect. The work presented in this paper is a simulation-based study of solar PV cell/module using the Simulink library present in MATLAB. The simulated model is then tested under different values of temperature and solar irradiance in order to conduct a behavioural study on a solar PV cell/module and the results are presented along with the model. The presented study is very useful in knowing the basic principles and limitations of a solar PV cell/module.
