Saline Water Level Monitoring using AWS

Saline bottle in the hospital plays a very important and crucial role for every patient. In almost every hospital, the staff or a nurse or an assistant is responsible to check the saline level frequently. In some situations, the nurse may forget to check the saline level due to some other schedules. The saline bottles which are used in hospitals have no indication and hence there is a chance of flow of blood reversal into the Saline bottle from the patient's body that puts the patient at risk. An IoT based prototype is developed and it alerts the doctors and nurses when the saline level is low and is about to be completed. ESP8266 NODEMCU, load sensor and HX711 amplifier are used in this work. AWS IoT core cloud service is used to publish the data and Simple Notification Service is used to trigger Alert messages to the nurse in this prototype. Thus using this system, hospital staff can monitor the saline level without going to the patient's room and can change the bottle on the verge of being empty.
