Remote control of eddy current damping vibration experiment system

With the continuous development of Internet technology, remote laboratories developed by combining Internet of Things (IoT) technology have become a hot spot in engineering education, and remote laboratory teaching has become a reflection of students' teaching quality. Therefore, this paper develops an intelligent remote education platform based on cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT). Firstly, the eddy current tuned mass damper (ECTMD) experimental instrument platform is built to conduct on-site experiments. Then, a web-based human-computer interface is built based on browser-client (B/S) architecture and networked with the experimental instrument platform. Finally, network experiments are conducted and experimental data are collected for the next experimental analysis. This experiment investigates the effect of ECTMD on frequency detuning under both free vibration and forced vibration. The cantilever beam with ECTMD stops vibration at free vibration for 1/10th of the original time compared to without dampers. The vibration amplitude is reduced to 1/3 of the original amplitude after the ECTMD action under forced vibration, and 2/3 of the vibration energy of the cantilever beam is released by the eddy current tuned mass damper (ECTMD). The experimental results also prove the effectiveness of ECTMD on vibration suppression under detuned conditions. The remote experimental system has remotely controlled the original on-site engineering experiments, realized the maximum utilization of educational resources, and improved the quality of experimental teaching.
