Investigation of hydrodynamic processes inside multicyclones in the integrated air cleaning device

The intake of purified and prepared atmospheric air into a gas turbine unit or gas pumping unit is provided by an integrated air cleaning device (IACD). Air purification in IACD is carried out, as a rule, at the stage of coarse cleaning with multicyclones, and at the stage of fine cleaning - in replaceable pocket or bag filters. This article examines the effectiveness of the use of a multicyclone filter as part of an IACD with elements that combine both stages of cleaning. Combining two stages of cleaning with one will lead to a decrease in the size of the IACD, an increase in reliability, and ease of maintenance. One of the goals of this work is to achieve the degree of sedimentation in the treatment elements of particles with sizes from 0.5 microns to more than 99%. Using computational fluid dynamics methods, the most efficient arrangement of cleaning elements was determined, which provides the maximum collection of particles of the PM2.5 class.
