New Single-Phase High-Frequency Isolated ∏-Z-Source AC-AC Converter

In order to improve the voltage range of AC/AC converter, reduce the cost and ensure the safe operation of the circuit, a single-phase isolated AC/AC converter with high-frequency transformer is proposed in this paper. This converter adds ∏-source impedance network to quasi-Z-source AC/AC converter, and integrates a single winding on the ∏-source coupling inductor to form a high-frequency transformer, which makes the circuit form electrical isolation. The new converter can not only make the output voltage and input in phase or inverse phase, but also can provide a wider range of buck boost output voltage, making the circuit more flexible. The working principle of the circuit is analyzed, the relationship between input and output is calculated, the simulation model is built by Simulink, and finally the experimental model is built in the laboratory for verification. Simulation and experimental results verify the correctness and feasibility of the converter.
