L-shaped Defected Ground Structure Integrated Low Profile Single-Fed Circularly Polarized Patch Antenna for Suppression of Cross Polar Radiation

In this paper, a low profile, single probe-fed square microstrip patch antenna with L-shaped defected ground structure (DGS) has been investigated for improving co polarised to cross polarised radiation isolation (CO-XP isolation). The best achievable axial ratio is 0.25 dB. Around 18–25 dB CO-XP isolation have been observed along the bore sight in both φ=0 degree and 90 degree plane in case of proposed antenna. The proposed structure is very simple and easy to manufacture
