Virtual Gallery of Attractors and Boundary Surfaces

This article presents the design of a virtual web gallery of attractors and boundary surfaces of Chua’s circuit. Before creating 3D models, it was necessary to calculate individual attractors, a set of 2D cross-sections of boundary surfaces and reconstruction of boundary surfaces. Two rooms were created in the proposed web gallery, one for attractors and the other for boundary surfaces. The large gallery of attractors was divided into individual groups allowing a clearer view of several attractors, which would be quite confusing when displaying all 195 attractors. At the same time, the user is allowed to move in the virtual gallery and manipulate the selected 3D object. The creation of the presented gallery can help to understand the work of dynamical systems as well as to develop new, visually and application-attractive systems generating chaos not only e.g. in the area of education or in the area of electric field but also in the area of cognitive therapy.
