Comparative Study of Three Phase AC/AC In-direct Matrix Converters: A Review

Efficient power converters are directly responsible for improved controllability and efficiency of electric drives. These converters find their applications in modern renewable energy systems so as to provide solutions to many of the current difficulties and technical issues. Apart from effective control, advancements in diverse modulation techniques such as sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM), space vector modulation (SVM), and other predictive control methods have resulted in improved power quality and the fulfilment of various load needs. This work is a review of what has already been reported about the in-direct matrix converter (IMC) via converter topologies, modulation methods, and applications. This research will assist researchers in selecting the appropriate architecture and approach for IMCs and their applications as per the needs.
