Robust Adaptive MPPT Control of Wind Turbine Based on Prescribed Performance

Considering the problems of low wind energy conversion efficiency and poor robustness when the wind turbine (WT) operates below the rated wind speed, an adaptive robust controller based on the prescribed performance function is designed to achieve the maximum power point tracking control (MPPT). By designing the prescribed performance function, the response speed and accuracy of WT rotating speed varying with wind speed are improved. Considering the parameter uncertainty and external noise interference in the actual WT system, an adaptive robust control method is designed to estimate the uncertainty of the WT parameters and strengthen the robustness. By constructing Lyapunov function, the global stability of the closed-loop system is verified. The simulation results are compared with conventional linear PID control and nonlinear dynamic state feedback control (SFC). The simulation results show that the controller in this paper has high precision and strong robustness, and can make the WT have faster speed response speed and higher wind energy conversion efficiency.
