An HG-SEPIC Converter Fed PMBLDC Motor Drive System

This paper presents a high gain improved SEPIC (HG-SEPIC) converter fed PMBLDC motor (PMBLDCM) drive system. The speed of PMBLDCM drive system has been controlled in closed loop using DC link voltage control methodology. The converter is operated in continuous conduction mode of operation that significantly reduces the stress on the converter components of the modified SEPIC converter. The VSI (voltage source inverter) is used to drive the PMBLDC motor with fundamental switching that improves the system efficiency by reducing switching losses by the low frequency commutation process. The results of the MATLAB simulated model of the scheme have been included with a detailed description and performance analysis.
