Resilience Aware Traffic Engineering FHRP Solution

The paper improves the mathematical model of fault-tolerant routing with the default gateway protection and ensures load balancing between border routers. Within the proposed model, the problem of fault-tolerant routing is formulated in an optimization form. The novelty of the proposed model of fault-tolerant routing is the introduction of conditions responsible for ensuring the balancing of the load arriving from the access networks between the border routers, taking into account their reliability (availability factor). The conducted research confirmed the efficiency of the network decisions received through the offered fault-tolerant routing model. It is established that with a slight difference in the reliability of border routers, the obtained order of balancing did not deteriorate the upper bound of the network links utilization. However, only in some cases, a somewhat increase (up to 3%) in the upper bound occurred with a difference in the values of the availability factors of routers by about two or more times, which is not typical for modern infocommunication networks.
