Exploring Wi-Fi-based Indoor Positioning Techniques for Mobile App

Determination of geolocation today is an urgent task, since it has wide application. The paper considers a comparison of methods for determining the location of an object using the trilateration method and the method of linear least squares least squares. In the course of the work, mobile software was developed. Which uses Wi-Fi routers as reference access points. Since they are almost always an integral part of the infrastructure of almost any building. The selected methods are implemented in the software product, due to this, a comparison of methods is carried out that allows you to calculate the coordinates of a mobile application with high accuracy. The measurements carried out in the experiment made it possible to conclude that the linear least squares method gives, on average, more accurate results, due to the elimination of deviations. The developed mobile application not only qualitatively determines the location of a mobile phone using Wi-Fi sensors, but can also be used with other types of access points.
