Comparative Analysis of Reserve Configuration of Power System with Storage Considering the Uncertainty of New Energy

Since wind and solar power are generally featured with randomness, intermittence and volatility, the high proportion of new energy will adversely affect the reliability of power grid. Energy storage can improve the flexibility of power system and also be employed to the matter of large-scale new energy grid connection. In this context, this article takes centralized energy storage as the research object. In order to give full play to the power regulation of energy storage, the remaining capacity is used as reserve on the basis of peak-shaving and valley-filling. In the article, Firstly, the operation characteristics of power system with storage are modeled, and then the author introduces the concept of ‘value at risk’, taking the minimum operating cost of the system as the objective function. Finally, the article proposes an optimization method for power system dispatching with storage. The simulation suggests that this method performs good adaptability to the fluctuation of new energy output.
