Design and Simulation Analysis of Grid-connection of Superconducting Generator

Offshore wind power generation system needs lar ge capacity synchronous generator with high power density, so the lightweight and small size of the superconducting synchron ous generator (SCSG) have a broad prospect in the field of offs hore wind power generation. To apply superconducting synchr onous generator to offshore wind power generation, designing t he corresponding grid-connection system is required. In this pa per, a 3.6 MW class offshore SCSG is designed and its perform ance is simulated using the finite element method (FEM). A coo perative control strategy combining the superconducting field coil and the converter is proposed. A Simulink model of the supe rconducting wind power system (SCWPS) is built to evaluate th e system operation under variable wind speed and Low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) performance.
