Research on Moisture Characteristics of Mechanism Case for Outdoor Circuit Breaker under Different Rain Conditions

Mechanism case for outdoor circuit breaker is in a harsh environment for a long time, and it is easy to cause internal water ingress due to heavy rain, which may bring short-circuit, grounding or other faults. However, there are no relevant research on moisture characteristics of mechanism case for outdoor circuit breaker under different rain conditions. The internal water inside mechanism case brings great safety risks to the operation of circuit breaker. In this paper, to study moisture characteristics of mechanism case for outdoor circuit breaker under different rain conditions, natural rainfall and artificial simulation of heavy rain environment are used. By monitoring temperature and humidity changes and internal water inflow in mechanism case, moisture characteristics of door and vent of mechanism case are studied, and waterproof effect of different sealing materials is analyzed.
