Systems Engineering V - Cycle approach for Design and Development of Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) are miniature submarines deployed in water bodies for real time data collection and monitoring. Developing such complex systems for a student competition in a given time frame within the limited resources requires agile project management alongside the technical expertise. This work discusses about implementation of V-cycle model also known as Verification and Validation model in the mechanical design of Black Pearl, an AUV developed for Singapore AUV Challenge. Adapting such a model would enable designers to keep track of each and every subsystem.
