RF-Induced Heating for Active Implantable Medical Device with Dual Parallel Leads under MRI

This paper investigates the radio frequency (RF)-induced heating of active implantable medical device (AIMD) with dual leads under the exposure of 1.5T MR system. Simulations and experiments were used in the study. It was observed that the coupling between closely spaced dual-leads systems has lower RF-induced heating compared to the same system with a single lead. The effect of lead spacing on the RF-induced heating was also studied.
