Gaussian beams formalism for high frequency scattering problems by metallic targets

The aim of this paper is to apply the Gaussian beam formalism for computing high frequency wave propagation problems. Unlike standard ray theory, Gaussian beams method overcome the difficulties of singular regions. The performance of the method is illustrated with several numerical examples.
