A Brief Survey of Model Predictive Current Control Techniques for Six-Phase Induction Machines

Model Predictive Current Control (MPCC) has been investigated broadly in multiphase electrical drives since its first publication in 2009. This paper summarises the latest MPCC techniques, mainly focusing on four relevant issues: improvement of the system model, reduction of secondary x − y currents, reduction of the computational burden, and the weighting factor calculation when multiple objectives are utilized in the cost function. This article aimed at providing readers with a concise summary while fostering future research work.
