A Survey of C++ based Agent Software Frameworks

This paper provides an up-to-date collection and comparison of C++ based agent software frameworks. Multi Agent Systems (MASs) are used in various fields like research or industry. They have different purposes such as modeling and simulation of complex systems or solving complex tasks. Over the last two decades several agent software frameworks have been developed which can be used to create or simulate MASs. The more agent software frameworks are available the harder it is choosing the best one for a given use case. In the literature java based agent software frameworks and their surveys predominate and there is a lack of information about comparable C++ based software. Several reasons like increased performance and low hardware requirements motivate using C++ based software. The selected comparison criteria help choosing the best possible agent platform software for a given use case.
