IoT Based Fish Stress Factor Monitoring System

Aquaculture involves the farming of aquatic life, such as fishes. It’s an area that has the potential to feed the world in the future. A modern technological strategy is required to develop the smart aqua farm. Aquafarming involves maintaining water parameters such as temperature, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, and pH level. These parameters cause stress to fish in the ponds. Fish growth is directly or indirectly affected by these stress factors. A relatively small number of farmers still measure these parameters manually. Many of them submit samples to the labs for analysis, but the results would not be as accurate as real-time measurements since the results are based on samples collected over time. The proposed system is composed of four sensors integrated with Arduino UNOs and a wireless module for evaluating water parameters crucial to sustaining fish growth. Measured values are available through a mobile application remotely. In this study, sensor readings are compared with pond-specific parameters and standard data. Furthermore, to assist the farmer in taking appropriate actions when any problem arises, a notification is generated in the application in the form of an alert message.
