Fuzzy Logic based Task Scheduling Algorithm in Vehicular Fog Computing Framework

In this paper, a three tier Vehicular Fog Computing (VFC) architecture has been considered where the mobile devices at the bottom most level offload their tasks to RSU (Road Side Unit) which acts as a coordinator between mobile devices and fog vehicles. The objective of this work is to maximize the profit earned by the vehicular community while taking the deadline of the tasks into consideration. Furthermore, an ordered chain of vehicles is created and updated periodically to complete the tasks in a deadline constrained environment. A task allocation strategy is designed using the fuzzy logic based scheme to maximize the value of community. Eventually, an extensive series of experiments are performed to evaluate the proposed algorithm and results have shown that the proposed approach provides higher benefit to vehicular fog community in comparison to other existing approaches.
