A Review of Storage Performance Test Platform

In recent years, with the rapid development of cloud computing and Internet of things, traditional enterprise storage (such as San and NAS) has been unable to meet the storage requirements of massive unstructured data. Network access storage, block storage, file storage and object storage have set off a new round of development wave. These storage systems adopt scalable system structure, store data on multiple independent devices, and use multiple storage servers to share the storage load, which improves the reliability, availability, access efficiency and scalability of the system. However, at the same time, when connecting storage servers to these storage systems and daily monitoring and testing these servers, the testing of these large numbers of servers has become a major difficulty. Manual testing is inconvenient and inefficient. The demand of manufacturers to test a large number of hosts and more test cases makes manual testing very difficult. Therefore, the problem of server automation test continues to be solved, so the cloud test platform came into being. The cloud test platform has the characteristics of high efficiency and flexibility, test automation, simple operation, friendly display of test results and so on. This paper will analyze and compare these test methods from the perspective of manual test and test platform, and analyze the common system architecture.
