Research on Hand Soft Rehabilitation System Based on Brain-computer Interface and Virtual Reality

Cerebral apoplexy, also known as stroke, is a common cerebrovascular disease worldwide. Most patients with stroke have hemiplegia and loss of limb motor function. This paper takes patients with motor dysfunction after stroke as the research object, researches and develops a hand soft rehabilitation system based on brain-computer interface and virtual reality, and analyzes its algorithm accuracy and rehabilitation effect. The proposed system is developed with three functions: detection, passive training and active training, and a neural pathway from the brain to the limbs is constructed bionicly outside the patient’s body. The brain-computer interface technology is used to transform the patient’s passive training into active control, and the virtual reality technology is used to improve the patient’s initiative in rehabilitation, forming feedback to the damaged central nervous system, and stimulating the remodeling or compensation of the brain. The research and development of this system can replace rehabilitation physicians to help patients with rehabilitation training, solve the problem of lack of resources of existing rehabilitation physicians, and provide patients with a more effective and scientific rehabilitation treatment plan. By analyzing the corresponding experimental results, the feasibility and effectiveness of the system are proved.
