High Resolution Imaging of GEO SAR under the Influence of Terrain Elevation

The impact of terrain elevation in the imaging of the geosynchronous synthetic aperture radar (GEO SAR) system has a significant impact, but there is no clear solution. This paper focuses on the impact of terrain elevation on imaging in GEO SAR system. Firstly, SAR imaging geometric model considering terrain elevation is established. Secondly, the source of error caused by terrain elevation and its influencing factors are analyzed. Then, under the condition of known slope angle, an improved imaging algorithm is proposed to solve the three-dimensional(3D) spatial variation of range, azimuth and elevation. Finally, the imaging algorithm is verified by simulation.
