The Model of Conjoint Servicing of Real Time and Elastic Traffic Streams Through Processor Sharing (PS) Discipline with Access Control

Over the recent years our communicating networks have witnessed huge upsurge in the capacities and diversities of the data gathered over the Internet of Things (IoT) and other massive applications. The management of such huge volumes of data is proving to be very challenging and networking industry is looking for the solutions to deal with such scenarios as the networks are being upgraded from 4G to 5G communication systems. A major proportion of this data traffic contains complex, non-structured and miscellaneous data referred as “Big Data”, mostly evolving from smart networks. Though 5G proposes guidelines to handle massive data and resource management but there are no proper methods to implement efficient resource allocation and management especially in a multiservice shared network. Such shared networks are very promising to support smart networking environments and IoT as they deal with heterogenous data streams (such as LTE, NB-IoT etc.) originating from varied sources. Keeping this challenge in mind we have designed a framework for multiservice access node of the 5G mobile communication network, that provides a procedure for efficient resource sharing between two traffic streams (real-time and elastic data services) based on the use of the PS (Processor Sharing) discipline and access restrictions for each of the jointly serviced streams. The constructed model can be used to estimate the volume of the resource during the joint transmission of traffic of modern communication applications that provide the specified QoS indicators. Additionally, access control allows to define conditions for a differentiated servicing and assign priorities to the traffic streams.
