Measurement of Mixer Based on Vector Network Analyzer

The mixer is an important component of electronic systems such as communication, radar, microwave measurement. This paper introduces the method of using R&S's ZNA vector network analyzer for mixer measurement. First, the hardware and operating system of the ZNA vector network analyzer are introduced. Then, analyze the principles of measuring the conversion loss, group delay, and 1dB compression point of the mixer by ZNA, and compare them with the traditional mixer measurement. Finally, use the ZNA vector network analyzer to measure the basic parameters of the PULSAR X1L-10-41 mixer. Based on the experimental results and advantage analysis, it can be seen that the ZNA is a great choice for mixer measurement at present.
