Asia-Pacific STEAM Education in K-12 Schools: Systematic Literature Review

Recently, there has been growing interest in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education, as it provides diverse skills needed for economic development. Therefore, in this paper, it is examined 22 published articles on STEAM education from 2016 to 2020, corresponding to studies carried out in the Asia-Pacific region. The review found different research studies done in preschool, as well as primary and secondary schools. It is discussed the current characteristics and challenges of STEAM education in relation to its interdisciplinary educational approach. These studies demonstrate that efforts have been made to implement a STEAM curriculum in the education system.
