Prototype Development and Verification for Grid Connected Three-Phase Three-Level NPC PV Inverter

In this study, a three-phase Neutral Point Clamped grid connected photovoltaic inverter system is modeled using the MATLAB/Simulink. The prototype of inverter card is designed using the STM32F407VGT6 Discovery board and the control software of the PV inverter system is prepared in MikroC language. In order to verify the software of the prototype inverter card a communication connection is established between MATLAB/Simulink and the inverter control card by using the S-Function. In the simulation, the current and voltage information measured from the power circuits is sent to the inverter card. Inverter control software runs the control algorithms by taking this information from the simulation instead of the ADC, and the resulting IGBT switching information is sent to the simulation. In this way, possible errors are eliminated by testing the accuracy of the prototype card and the prepared software before connecting the real power circuits.
