Composite Insulator Interface Discharge Accelerated Decay-Like Aging and Analysis

In this paper, a multi-factor aging method is utilized to simulate, and accelerate the decay-like aging of FRP core rod in composite insulator. Strong tensile, nitric acid corrosion, high-conductivity, high-humidity, and high-temperature conditions are applied to the FRP core rod, interface failure caused by moisture penetration through the damaged sheath and the interface discharge are also artificially simulated during the aging test. After aging, the microscopic morphology, characteristic groups and epoxy resin content of the FRP material are tested, and further analysis are applied to explore the relationship between the functional groups of the material and the loss of properties during the aging process. The experiment aims to restore and accelerate the process of decay-like aging in the laboratory, so as to further find out the conditions and the features of decay-like aging. It is of guiding significance for the pre-inspection of FRP core rod decay-like aging during on-site operating.
