Internet of Things Based Innovative and Cost-effective Smart Sericulture Farm Incubator

Sericulture is most important farming in Silk industry. It produces raw silk from Silkworms. The activities involved in sericulture are food-plant cultivation in order to feed the silkworm. Mostly domesticated silkworm (Bombyx mori) is raised for the purpose of silkworm. Now-a-days everything will be controlled and operated automatically. The overall production of silk is only 15% in India whereas in China, it is about 85%. So, there is a need of automation to enhance the production of silk. Maintaining the environmental condition inside the sericulture farm is the main challenge in silkworm rearing process. Parameters like temperature, humidity, air circulation, luminosity and gases like carbon-di-oxide, smoke will affect the embryonic development of silkworm. The proposed system involves the use of Microcontroller which detects the inputs from these parameters. Whenever the inputs exceed or lowered than the threshold values, corresponding device like heater, air cooler, humidifier and exhaust fan are operated inside the incubator in order to maintain the environmental condition. The detected sensor values are sent to the user via application. The implemented system will react to any kind of climatic changes that occurs inside the incubator.
