Real Time Temperature Process Plant Automation Using Yokogawa DCS Centum VP

In process control industries, automatic controllers are most widely used. The utmost purpose to make use of automatic controllers is to achieve the required stable performance. Hence industries demand a controller which can give a required stable performance despite the effect of uncertainties. Designing a controller for such kind of industrial processes is a complicated task due to the uncertain environment in industries and high interaction between the sub processes. Thus, a robust and reliable controller is required for industrial applications. Recently, International Society for Automation (ISA) has reported that 90% of industries have used PID controller because of its simple structure and acceptable performance. Also, PID controller having the flexibility to AUTO tune its parameters even when the model parameters are changed. These advantages make the PID controller popular in the industrial applications and recent researches are focused in improving the PID controller’s performance. Most of the chemical process industries the most important thing is to monitor and to control the necessary process parameters through online and at that time of instance. The online process estimation and control which will increase the plant productivity and Safety measures. Distributed control system is generally used to implement in process control industries for the centralized monitoring and control. In DCS there is a control which is in centralized, and the control task must be done by remotely. This paper deals with temperature parameter of process this must be measured in the field by remotely and control action taken by operator station in the centralized control room. The field output from the temperature process unit located in the remote location is fetched and these process parameters are sent back to the Field Control Station (FCS) where the control action is performed by the Distributed Control System (DCS) and the monitoring is done centrally in the Control room.
