The emergence of a visual culture from software portability in an architectural education context

The main objective of this research is study the relationships between the portability of design and 3D modelling software and contemporary digital visual culture in architecture. The study is centered in a high-educational undergraduate context where and when students begin to discover or be interested in and/or the possibilities of their own explorations based on the tools that allow them to produce visual images. The work is approached from a methodology that combines fieldwork with students of architecture of different study levels and courses and an analysis made from relating inside data of surveys and course evidences, findings in web search engines and social media both focused in architecture, and theoretical framework. The results of the study give insights about how today's digital visual culture in architecture is mediated not only by visual workflows and economies but by transdisciplinary software and by what may be called visualities.
