Link Scheduling for Multiple-Directional Antennas in Ad hoc Network: A Quasi-order Theoretic Viewpoint

Directional antennas can greatly improve communication performance in wireless ad hoc network (WANET) over traditional omnidirectional antennas. Multiple-Directional Antennas (MDAs) are a set of directional antennas supporting several directional transmitting and receiving. MDAs not only inherit the advantages of directional antennas, but also support parallel communication with multiple adjacent nodes. However, only through complex scheduling of wireless links can these advantages be realized. Currently, the study of link scheduling problems is mainly to construct link scheduling strategies according to the current network communication requirements. This makes the scheduling strategy highly coupled with the current communication scenario and lacks flexibility. This paper proposes a new method of constructing link scheduling strategy based on the theory of quasi-order relation. This method is suitable for constructing all feasible scheduling strategies in small WANET. Subsequently, the network scheduling equipment only needs to find the best matching strategy in the scheduling strategy set to better complete the complex scheduling control.
