Novel Energy-Efficient Hybrid Green Energy Scheme for Future Sustainability

Electricity in today’s world has become one of the key driving factors for the country’s socio-economic growth and prosperity. New generation cutting edge devices consumes very little energy, but it is essential to ensure continuous energy flow, i.e., reliability. Switching and adoption of sustainable green renewable energy sources have been the need of the hour to safeguard environmental interest. Although electricity derived from Renewable energy sources or DERs is typically unpredictable and intermittent in nature due to high dependency on environmental conditions. The continuous power supply is a difficult job that can only be accomplished unless maximizing the use of two or more resources, resulting in the adoption of a hybrid energy model. This paper has attempted to present a novel fused converter architecture prototype to obtain maximum power from a hybrid solar-wind system. The hybrid arrangement allows the sources to feed the load one at a time or all at once, depending on their power availability. The CUK and SEPIC converters are combined in the proposed converter. The removal of unwanted high-frequency harmonics is a distinguishing feature of a fused CUKSEPIC converter. The simulation was run in MATLAB Simulink, and the result has been discussed with the corresponding output signal. The suggested CUK-SEPIC converter’s performance is validated through hardware implementation.
