Modeling and simulation of vector control for a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor in electric vehicle

In this paper, a vector control system a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) for an electric vehicle is proposed. Recent studies have shown that for some high-performance servo applications, PMSM can be a serious competitor face the induction machine (IM). The PMSM mathematical model is created based on Park and Clarke transformations. This is to achieve linear dynamics similar to a DC motor. The vector control principle is applied on the PMSM. In order to achieve linear dynamics similar to that of a DC motor. There are two control loops in the linearized model, namely, the current and the speed loops. The aim of the control system is to achieve a quick response. Finally, a control system for the PMSM was created, and the entire motor was tested. The collaborative optimization control experiment, as well as torque tracking and speed restriction tests, validate the correctness and effectiveness of the suggested control technique. The performance of the PMSM drive system under different speeds is evaluated using the MATLAB/Simulink tool.
