Implementation of the LED Light Source System as a Smart Plant Factory

Nowadays, the plant factory is a fairly mature and technology-based industry. This paper presented the miniaturization light source system for the plant factory with the remote light-emitting diode (LED) circuit design. The LEDs can be alternated the sunshine for increasing yield or improving the quality of farming. The power modules used a two-stage topology of boost power factor correction (PFC) circuit with LLC half-bridge series resonant circuit and flyback converter. The 300-watt AC/DC converter provides driving LEDs planting and supplies energy for all DC power modules. Microcontroller unit (MCU) is used to control modules in the miniaturization light source system. The proposed communication modules and the sets of LED dimming modules can be remoted by using the mobile phone APP. The light source selection for different plant growth can achieve efficient artificial lighting systems in modern agricultural cultivation. Therefore, the proposed LED light source system can meet the agricultural market demand when the artificial areas are without enough sunlight.
