Features of Separation and Downloading Software of Measuring Instruments

An analysis of the peculiarities of mechanisms to separation the measuring instrument software into legally significant and legally insignificant parts is carried out. The differences in the approaches of the international document and the European guide to the separation of software parts for measuring instruments are shown. Diagrams of non-loadable and loadable MI software have been developed. The possibilities of simplifies conformity assessment procedures for case if the manufacturer uses the MI software update mechanism are presented. A list of requirements that must be provided by the manufacturer for using the software update mechanism are identified.
