Physical Layer Security Based on Full-Duplex Under the Impact of Channel Convergence

The inherent broadcast nature makes power line communication (PLC) susceptible to eavesdropping. The common physical layer security (PLS) studies are carried out on the premise that the main channel and the wiretap channel are independent. However, in fact, the eavesdropper is more likely to exist within a half-wavelength range from the legitimate users in the public PLC network. In this paper, the PLS under the impact of channel convergence is studied. The novel artificial noise (AN) injection scheme with a full-duplex transmitter is proposed and the AN signal and the information-bearing signal are designed to make the PLS system more resistant to the channel noise. The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme has a good overall performance in terms of security and reliability in the extremely unsafe case. This scheme is also useful to share the secret keys between the legitimate users.
