The Technique of Calculating a Steam Turbine Power For Characterization of The Turbine Fast Valving

The turbine fast valving is one of the efficient means of ensuring transient stability of power systems. Increased integration of low-inertia renewable sources of energy and storage systems makes it even more relevant to use turbine fast valving in order to maintain transient stability. The problem of planning and designing a power system is directly related to considering turbine fast valving, because its model is implemented taking into account transient curves of turbine and generator power output. Parameters of turbine fast valving are unique for each generation unit. Thus, testing of power output and its change rate time delays is the way to define these parameters. This paper describes the suggested technique of calculating power of a turbine. The technique was tested on the one-machine system using Matlab Simulink. As a result, the method for steam turbine power calculating was developed and tested. The proposed technique can be used to obtain the characteristics of the steam turbine fast valving.
