DECT standard as wireless IoT technology

This paper focuses on the selection of last-mile wireless technology for the Internet of Things (IoT). This technology is based in the old wireless communication technology DECT. The paper lists the main advantages of the DECT technology as compared to the existing and ongoing developments. Two possible ways of communication are highlighted. The first involves a full-fledged TCP/IP protocol connection at the executive device IoT using DECT. The second method of communication assumes that the DECT subscriber terminal supports VoIP technology. IoT control commands are encapsulated in VoIP packets on the IoT service server, transmitted to the DECT terminal, where they are retrieved.
