Abstract:

In many modern industrial processes, the industries require power electronic devices to improve the high quality of production. However, the prevalent equipment are made of devices that are susceptible to power quality issues like voltage sag. One of the common techniques for the mitigation of the impact of voltage sag is to employ the dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) method. In this work, an adaptive PI controller using gain scheduling is proposed. The scheme of adaptive controller is based on gain scheduling of parameters PI. The main objective of this controller is to improve the sag compensation time of DVR. The results show that using the PI adaptive technique, the compensation time for load voltage is faster than only the PI controller. Furthermore, the proposed technique has provided the desired load voltage for sensitive load through appropriate injected voltage.
