Oxygen Concentration Measurement in Flue Gases Using Solid Electrolyte Cells

The article discusses the problems of fossil fuel combustion processes to produce heat and electricity. A method of measuring oxygen in gas mixtures using the solid electrolyte cells was considered. The main designs of sensors based on these cells are presented, in which air is used as a comparative gas mixture. The analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of these sensors is carried out. A sensor design was proposed based on an oxygen solid electrolyte cell with a 100^% gaseous reference medium. The design features and conditions of use of the sensor are studied. An analysis of the errors of the method for measuring the oxygen concentration in flue gases based on a cell with a 100% gaseous reference medium was carried out. The gas analyzer oxygen in the flue gases developed as a result of research. The article contains the main technical and operational parameters of the device. The gas analyzer can be used to monitor and control fuel combustion processes. A special measurement method can be applied when developing a serial gas analyzer.
