Developing Architecture of Electronic Means of Ensuring the Safe Crossing of Railway Tracks

The article deals with the development of a technical solution for a complex signaling and blocking system that increases the safety of crossing railway tracks that are not provided with crossing at different levels. A probabilistic model of the object states, taking into account the analysis of the vehicles movement and the pedestrians flow, is considered to form the indicators of the railway crossing functioning. The probability of a safe crossing over tracks free of rolling stock is determined based on the dynamic model of railway crossing states in the form of a lognormal distribution. An example of a technical solution for the equipment of a railway crossing point that provides increased safety is considered using the obtained stochastic model. The scheme of the complex system of the crossing arrangement including means of monitoring of the rolling stock approach speed, sensors of determining the pedestrians' position, automated means of the alarm and blocking is developed. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology for ensuring the safe crossing of railway tracks is justified.
