Energy Consumption Analysis of a Hybrid Optimized Model for Sustainable Green Data Center

Developing of renewable energy (RE) and mitigation of carbon dioxide, as the two largest climate action initiatives are the most challenging factors for our new generation. The integration of renewable energy source with data centers has emerged as a promising aspect in energy utilization. This paper gives spotlight on the hybrid energy supply solution for the green data centers (GDC) to reduce grid electricity usage by proposing an energy optimization model consisting of renewable energy and diesel generator. Thus, reduction of electricity consumption as well as the minimal value of electricity (COE) could ensure the quality of service (QoS). Additionally, a sufficient energy storage system (ESS) is installed for enhancing system reliability under 10 years’ project duration. The proposed framework delivers RE which includes solar photovoltaic, wind turbine and non-renewable energy sources as DG and Battery. A hybrid optimization model has been developed using HOMER software for energy consumption evaluation.
