The Research of Orthogonal Waveform Design for Ambiguity Feature Based on Distributed MIMO Radar

Distributed fully coherent radar system can be regarded as a centralized MIMO radar, and its different signal forms lead to a variety of ambiguity characteristics. At the same time, the characteristic of system ambiguity function not only depends on the signal itself, but also has a close relationship with the array structure, especially the transmitting array structure. Therefore, taking uniform array as an example, this paper firstly introduce the working process requirements, and then gives the linear frequency modulated (LFM) and pulse-code modulated (PCM) designs. In the end, it is proposed two synthesized waveforms, which are stepped frequency divided linear frequency modulated (SFDLFM) and stepped frequency divided pulse-code modulated (SFDPCM) with genetic algorithm. The simulations are made to demonstrate the approaches are effective and validity and the related results can be extended to any array.
