Design and Assessment of Heat Interchanging System within the Local Area

A heat interchanging system maybe formed among the existing buildings within the local area. Each user in the regional heat interchanging system has independent heat source equipment, which is a self-help and mutual-aid dual effect energy utilization system. In this study, taking two adjacent buildings in the region as the research object, the architecture of regional heat interchanging system is proposed in view of two scenarios, namely, flexible use of existing equipment and new equipment expansion. Moreover, the energy balance analysis model is built to quantitatively analyze the energy-saving effect of the heat interchanging system under the two scenarios. According to the simulation results, the introduction of local heat interchanging between adjacent two buildings results in win-win performance from the energy-saving viewpoint. Especially, by introducing the advanced energy systems (e.g., cogeneration system), the energy-saving potential can be even extended.
