Automatic Identification Strategy Design for Plug-and-play Functional Modules of Modular Energy Controller

In the “cloud-pipe-edge-terminal” system of Power Internet of Things, as an emerging edge device, modular energy controller is an upgrade to the concentrator and TTU(distribution Transformer supervisory Terminal Unit). In order to meet the automation application requirements of the power information collection system, an automatic identification strategy for the functional modules of modular energy controller was designed to realize the rapid detection and automatic identification of plug-and-play functional modules. This paper briefly introduces the hardware structure design and software structure design of modular energy controllers, focusing on the automatic identification strategy design of functional modules. The automatic identification strategy combines Netlink-based USB hot plug detection and traversal query to improve identification reliability and accuracy. Finally, related functions of automatic identification of the modules were verified, and software performance was tested. The experimental results demonstrate that the automatic identification strategy of functional modules has a high accuracy and can realize rapid and accurate detection of plugging in and unplugging of modules. Compared with the other two mentioned strategies, it has a faster and more stable detection speed. Furthermore, it can run stably for a long time which is longer than 72 hours. The strategy has a low system resources occupation, and its software performance is good.
