A Lipchitz Observer Application in Photobioreactors for Microalgae Cultivation

In this paper we discuss a Lipschitz observer for a nonlinear system, using the Luenberger-type observer as a basis. The nonlinearities were addressed using linear matrix inequalities (LMI) through Matlab and Yalmip. A photobioreactor with the Monod equation will be used as an example. The main objective of the work is to be able to estimate the nutrient concentration using only the incident and irradiated light from the photobioreactor as input.
